The Erasmus+ project "Developing VR educational tools to support class accommodation and peer-level based learning for students with dyslexia" recently held its mid-term transnational partners meeting in Sassari, Italy on December 21st and 22nd, 2022. The project coordinator, Veselīgas Attīstības Skola (VAS) from Latvia, was in attendance along with project partners Scuola Pitagora from Italy, NGO Nest Berlin from Germany, Innovation Frontiers IKE from Greece, and Center for special educational support "D-r Peter Beron" from Bulgaria.

During the meeting, the partners discussed the progress and finalization of IO1, which includes the publication of e-learning modules on the web platform http://vrschooldom.eu/elearning/login/. Additionally, the partners discussed the implementation of IO2, which will be led by IKE and will involve the creation of a smartphone app using teaching strategies and methodologies suggested by teachers during focus groups at the local level. Scuola Pitagora and Center "Dr Peter Beron" will act as experts in the field, overseeing the insights provided by the different focus groups and providing final recommendations on the content of the app.

The partners also discussed IO3, which will be parallel to the implementation of IO2 and will be led by NGO Nest Berlin. The result of this implementation will be the creation of an E-Toolkit containing a set of online-based soft skills activities aimed at supporting the interaction of students with dyslexia and their classmates. Teachers will be interviewed through focus groups about tools and strategies to increase inclusion within classes.

The partners also emphasized the need for several in-person meetings with the target group in the next implementation steps, specifically focus groups for IO2 and IO3. To ease the implementation process, the partners agreed on the need to gather these meetings in just one where all the topics will be discussed.

The next in-person meeting will be held in Greece at the end of the project in December 2023. It will be the responsibility of VAS to plan in-itinere online partners meetings.
