THE MAGIC TO COMMUNICATE

31.07.-09.08.2015. In Bulgaria, in a small town on the Black Sea coast of Kranevo an exchange seminar for speech therapists on autism spectrum disorders (AST) "The magic to communicate" was organized.

A total of 50 participants from five different countries took part in the project: Bulgaria, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia to share experiences of working with children and young people with autism spectrum disorders. For nine days we listened to and watched lecturers' presentations, as well as participated in group work, sharing our knowledge and listening to the opinions of speech therapists from other countries. Depending on the task to be performed, the size and composition of the groups were changed and each work was presented to all project participants. It was interesting to visit the children's center Karin Dom in Varna, where we learned about the experience of the specialists of this center in working with children with AST, their parents and teachers.

This year, Latvia was represented in the Erasmus + project for speech therapists by LLA members not only from Riga and its surroundings, but also from Daugavpils, Liepāja, Ventspils.

Each of us became richer by sharing, we made new friends and like-minded people not only abroad, but also here in Latvia. It was an infinite pleasure to see and get to know each other again, to be with sincere, positive people who love their work, family and country.
